Electricity grid renovation: new cables for Britz

Since the start of 2016, fundamental renovation of the low-voltage grid has been taking place in the Berlin district of Britz. This should be completed by the end of November 2019. This doesn't just reduce the risk of power outages affecting the customers in question. It also increases the grid's transmission performance, allowing it to cope smoothly with the growing expansion of local energy generation and electromobility.

The necessary building works will take place on roads and pavements. Unfortunately, temporary disruptions to the electricity supply due to the switch from the old cables to the new cables are unavoidable. Notices will inform those customers affected at least three working days in advance. We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause and ask for your understanding.

If you have any questions or comments on these building works, you can contact a member of the team, shown opposite.

Renovation of the grid area in Neukölln will continue in the coming years. By 2019, a total of around 30 kilometres of cable will have been either additionally laid or replaced. To do this, we are investing almost 7 million euros. We will provide specific information on those streets affected by the construction measures in the coming years well in advance.

The following streets will be affected by the work at various stages:
