Electricity grid renovation: new cables for Lichtenberg
As proprietor of Berlin's energy distribution grid and the associated grid equipment, we ensure that you have a reliable electricity supply.
The network cables in Weitlingkiez in Lichtenberg have reached the end of their scheduled lifetime. They are liable to disruption, which unfortunately leads to occasional power failures.
In order to be able to offer you better security of supply in future, we are modernising our distribution network in Lichtenberg until July 2019.
We are replacing low-, medium-voltage and communication cables over an area approximately 900 m long. These works have become necessary in order to meet increasing demand for electricity in your area.
The streets and sections of streets which will be affected by the building works are:
- Leopoldstraße No 18-21
- Eitelstraße No 26-64
- Rupprechtstraße No 1-7 and 34-38
- Münsterlandstraße No 23-40
- Emanuelstraße No 6-8
The works will primarily take place on cycle paths and pavements. Restrictions may be put in place on these.
There are no disruptions to the electricity supply planned. However, if short disruptions do become necessary, we will inform the affected customers well in advance – at least three working days beforehand – by putting up notices by their houses.
We have commissioned the company STB Sentürk Straßen & Tiefbau, tel. 030 - 69533946, to carry out this work.
If you have any questions or comments on these building works, please contact our works manager Mr Thorsten Schellhorn or our project planner Mr Wolf-Uwe Gebser.
We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause and ask for your understanding.
