Expansion of the electricity grid: new cabling for residential development in Pankow

There are plans to increase municipal housing construction in the north of Pankow over the next few years, while also increasing the number of wind turbines.

However, the medium voltage grid for the "Falkenberger Straße" transformer station supply area is not designed to accommodate this growth and requires expansion and/or renovation. Over several phases of construction, there is a requirement to create two new 10 kV grid rings and to extend an existing 10 kV grid ring. In carrying out this work, synergies with the "B2 Dorfstraße Malchow" road expansion are being considered. In addition to adapting our sections of cable, some work is also needed on Falkenberger Straße transformer station.

The expansion work will primarily take place on cycle paths and pavements. However, it may include disruption on the road (e.g. road closures on one side or lane restrictions).

There are no disruptions to the electricity supply planned. However, if short disruptions do become necessary, we will inform affected customers well in advance – at least three working days beforehand – by putting up notices. We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause and ask for your understanding.
