140 years of stability and change

In 1884, our forefathers - at that time they were all men - founded Städtische Elekrtricitäts-Werke AG. One year later, electricity flowed through a public grid at Gendarmenmarkt for the first time in Berlin's history. 

This annual report is dedicated to our history, which is rich in many respects: rich in challenges, rich in changes, rich in success. And rich in people who, for 140 years, have ensured that all Berliners receive as much electricity as they need to live and work at all times. 

However, the report is a journey through time in several directions. Because we are also looking ahead: how will our grid, our customers, our substations and we as a company develop in the coming years? Of course, there's also a little bit of today, because today is yesterday's tomorrow.
