Accessibility declaration of Stromnetz Berlin GmbH

Stromnetz Berlin GmbH endeavours to make its website https://www.stromnetz.berlin/ accessible in accordance with the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG). This declaration on accessibility applies to the Stromnetz Berlin website.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The Stromnetz Berlin GmbH website is only partially compatible with the requirements of the Barrier-Free Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG).

Non-accessible content

The contents listed below are not barrier-free:

  1. Non-Text Content - 9.1.1.1

Some alternative texts across the website are missing, incorrect, or insufficient. This affects images, icons, and other non-text elements. In particular, some <svg> elements with a role of img lack proper alternative text, making them inaccessible to screen reader users. These contents are currently not accessible in accordance with EN 301 549. A gradual improvement is planned.
  2. Audio Description – 9.1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded)

Some prerecorded videos containing important visual information lack audio descriptions. This can prevent users who are blind or have low vision from accessing key visual content not conveyed through the standard audio track. These contents are currently not accessible in accordance with EN 301 549. An improvement plan is being developed to add audio descriptions or equivalent transcripts.
  3. Info and Relationships – 9.1.3.1

Some headings do not follow a logical programmatic structure or are incorrectly coded. Labels and instructions for certain form elements are not programmatically determinable, and some links disappear when CSS is disabled. These contents are currently not accessible in accordance with EN 301 549. A gradual improvement is planned.

  4. Visual Distinction – 9.1.4.1 Use of Color

Some links rely solely on color to indicate that they are clickable, without additional visual indicators such as underlines or bold styling. This can be problematic for users with color vision deficiencies. These contents are currently not accessible in accordance with EN 301 549. A gradual improvement is planned.

  5. Link Purpose (In Context) – 9.2.4.4

Certain links do not have discernible or descriptive text, making it difficult for screen reader users to understand their purpose. These contents are currently not accessible in accordance with EN 301 549. A gradual improvement is planned.

  6. Name, Role, Value – 9.4.1.2

Some ARIA widgets and buttons lack appropriate names or roles. Additionally, some elements use ARIA attributes that are invalid or not supported for their role, potentially causing confusion for users of assistive technologies. These contents are currently not accessible in accordance with EN 301 549. A gradual improvement is planned.

  7. Documents – 9.10.1.1 Document Accessibility

Some PDF and other downloadable documents do not currently meet accessibility requirements. Issues include missing alternative text, incorrect reading order, lack of tagging, and insufficient semantic structure (e.g. headings, lists, tables). These documents are not accessible in accordance with EN 301 549.

A gradual improvement is planned. Future documents will be created to meet accessibility standards, and older documents will be remediated as resources allow.

If you require a specific document in an accessible format, please contact us using the details in the feedback section.
