Berliners still have until 14 January 2014 to vote on the best designed junction boxes in the capital.

Seventeen Berlin-based schools have taken part in the "junction box styling" school project, sponsored by Stromnetz Berlin GmbH. School pupils from a range of age groups worked with meredo e.V. to restyle nearly 250 cable distribution cabinets in their local districts. Inspired by the slogan "energy, environment and the future", the children and young people came up with creative ideas and brought the colourful designs to life, with impressive results. Street artists lent their support to the pupils.

Stromnetz Berlin GmbH is running the "most creative junction box 2013" competition to show their appreciation for the children and young people involved in the project. Nine of the seventeen schools have applied to the competition and voted for their favourites. A jury will select the three best designed junction boxes and award prizes.

The public can have their say as well as the jury by voting for an online victor at www.stromnetz.berlin/stromkastenstyling. Anyone interested in taking part has until 14.01.2014 to cast their vote via the link provided. Two photos of each submitted artwork are ready to be viewed in the image gallery. The team that wins the online vote will get a visit to a high ropes course of their choice. Both prize ceremonies will take place on 22 January 2014 behind closed doors.

Stromnetz Berlin will resume the collaborative project in 2014 in association with meredo e.V. This year's participating schools and youth projects have already been confirmed.
