Flying colours: vote for the best junction box of 2018!

Young Berlin residents have the chance to creatively redesign junction boxes in their district or near their schools. Over 3,000 of these splashes of colour can now be found all across the city. Approximately 500 junction boxes have been sprayed and spruced up this year as part of the "junction box styling" project. This is the sixth time Stromnetz Berlin GmbH has carried out the project together with the associations meredo e.V. and Helliwood media & education im fjs e.V. The contest to find the "Most Creative Junction Box 2018" will pay tribute to the efforts of all of the participants and mark the end of the project. Around 20 school classes and project groups have submitted their entries, which will be evaluated by an official jury in three categories.

Experienced street artists were on hand to assist the young participants, showing them different design techniques and helping them to apply those techniques to the junction boxes themselves. Around 1,000 pupils from approximately 40 schools took part in the junction box styling project in 2018.

The contest to find the "Most Creative Junction Box 2018" will pay tribute to the efforts of all of the participants and mark the end of the project. Around 20 school classes and project groups have submitted their entries, which will be evaluated by an official jury in three categories.

Berlin residents can now also cast their votes for the people's prize: photos of all the boxes taking part in the competition are displayed in the picture gallery on Stromnetz Berlin's website at junction box styling. You can vote for your own favourites online at this address until 18 November 2018.

This year's winners will be chosen on 28 November. Stromnetz Berlin will then announce the winning boxes on their website.
