Power failure in Berlin-Johannisthal
Current status and update on site at 11.30 a.m
09.09.2025
In the early morning at around 3.30 a.m., we received a report of a fire on two electricity pylons in Berlin-Johannisthal. The fire has now been extinguished. As a result of the fire, around 50,000 households and commercial customers in Johannisthal, Bohnsdorf, Niederschöneweide, Grünau, Adlershof, Altglienicke and neighbouring districts are without electricity. Public transport has also been affected by the power cut.
Our colleagues are currently working on the partial resupply of the first customers. The reasons for the fire are still unclear.
Stromnetz Berlin Managing Director Dr Erik Landeck will be on site at the corner of Königsheideweg and Späthsfelder Weg in Johannisthal at 11.30 a.m. for an initial statement.
