Colour and variety for Berlin: Vote for the most beautiful junction box of 2022 now!
Around 1,000 pupils took part in the "junction box styling" youth project once again last year.
For many years, young Berlin residents have had the opportunity to creatively design junction boxes in their district and close to their schools. Many thousands of colourful Stromnetz "ambassadors" can now be found throughout the city. Around 600 junction boxes from the Berlin distribution system operator were decorated once again in 2022 as part of the junction box styling project. For the ninth time, Stromnetz Berlin GmbH ran the project together with the associations meredo e. V. and Helliwood media & education im fjs e. V.
Experienced street artists from the two associations guided the young participants, showed them design techniques and supported them in the practical implementation on location. Around 1,000 pupils from 29 schools took part in last year's junction box styling.
All Berlin residents are now invited to choose their favourite from the freshly designed boxes. The Instagram profile @stromkastenberlin shows all the "works of art" entered in the competition. In addition to the audience award, the winners in the other categories of the "Most Creative Junction Box of 2022" competition will also be selected. A jury will evaluate the submitted entries in three categories. All winners will be chosen on 4 May 2023. Stromnetz Berlin will then announce the winning boxes on the website.
