Stromnetz Berlin continues to support projects at the "Gelbe Villa"
Donation handed over during project week
In mid-June, a class of year 5 students completed a project week at the “Gelbe Villa”. The week was packed with creativity, teamwork and fun. For the eleventh time, Stromnetz Berlin supported the event at the Creative and Educational Centre in Kreuzberg. The format is designed to introduce children to technology in an engaging way. During the week, they built their own solar system, discovered distant plants with laser saws and photon screwdrivers, explored the environment with the help of photography and technology, and found out what flip books on a mobile phone have to do with nature. The broad topic of technology was linked to craftsmanship and art.
Stromnetz Berlin also presented the Gelbe Villa with a cheque and donated 9,900 euros during the Project Days and following a visit to the individual workshops. This money will enable the creative and educational house in Berlin-Kreuzberg to continue to offer its technology-related activities free of charge.
Sylvia Sindermann, Head of Human Resources Development & Corporate Culture at Stromnetz Berlin: "The Gelbe Villa provides future-oriented, creative events for children and young people to introduce them to technical topics and to inspire them. We are delighted to support this important work with our donation and make a small contribution to meeting the ever-growing demand for technically-minded specialists."
