Stromnetz Berlin begins preventive maintenance work in Steglitz-Zehlendorf

During the summer months, Stromnetz Berlin will be carrying out repair and maintenance work on power lines in the Berlin districts of Lichterfelde, Wannsee, Nikolassee, Zehlendorf, Dahlem and Schlachtensee. The measures are scheduled to take place between June and September.

The work is being carried out due to technical changes to the distribution network, which are to be implemented in the run-up to the coming winter months. The aim is to reliably ensure supply security during the cold season, when demand is particularly high, while at the same time strengthening the infrastructure in the districts mentioned. 

Everything will be kept up and running as normal while the work is being performed. There are currently no plans to restrict supplies to local residents. However, in the event of unforeseen additional disruptions to the grid, there may be isolated cases of brief power cuts during the period mentioned. 

A key priority for Stromnetz Berlin when planning and coordinating the necessary work is to minimise the impact on the daily lives of local residents and continue to ensure the high reliability of Berlin’s electricity supply.
