Around 150 young artists, along with their teachers and parents, eagerly awaited the announcement of the winners of this year's "Most creative junction box" competition. Stromnetz Berlin rounded off the award ceremony on Wednesday afternoon in proper style with burgers and popcorn. Prizes in the three categories included a contribution to the class fund, vouchers and cinema tickets.
Young Berlin residents have the chance to creatively redesign junction boxes in their district and in the vicinity of their schools. Almost 4,000 of these colourful Stromnetz ambassadors can now be found across the city. Approximately 500 junction boxes have been sprayed and spruced up this year as part of the "junction box styling" project. Vote your favorite!
"Inventors' workshop", "Technology and art – on the trail of Da Vinci" and "Mobility in 2040" are the topics of this year's "Discover your technical streak" themed week, a format that Stromnetz Berlin is supporting at the "Yellow Villa" for the seventh time. The aim is to use creative ways to familiarise children and young people with technology-related topics.
"Stone by stone, brick by brick, the cottage will be finished soon" goes the old German nursery rhyme. Construction work over the last 14 months has been intense, culminating in today's topping-out ceremo-ny for the new Wuhletal substation in the Berlin borough of Marzahn-Hellersdorf.
