New management team at Stromnetz Berlin

18.10.2022

Bernhard Büllmann will be appointed new Managing Director of Finance and Human Resources in the coming year

At its meeting on 17 October 2022, the Supervisory Board of Stromnetz Berlin GmbH appointed Bernhard Büllmann as the company's new Managing Director of Finance and Human Resources. Büllmann will join the company next year, whereupon he will manage Stromnetz Berlin GmbH together with Dr Erik Landeck, Managing Director of Energy and Technology.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company, State Secretary Tino Schopf, issued the following statement: "We have gained a highly competent manager for Stromnetz Berlin in the form of Bernhard Büllmann, who has extensive, longstanding experience in the energy industry and has played a significant role in the success of REWAG Regensburger Energie- und Wasserversorgung AG in recent years. He will be taking on his new role during a period of profound change. Stromnetz Berlin is a key player in continually driving forward the energy transition in our city and ensuring a reliable energy supply for Berlin residents, even in times of crisis. I look forward to working with him and welcome Mr. Büllmann to Berlin."

Dr Erik Landeck, who will take over as Chair of the Management Board, had the following to say about the appointment: "With the energy and heat transition, we are facing some major challenges, in particular with respect to Berlin's electricity grid. I am looking forward to working with Bernhard Büllmann and am sure that together we will make important decisions for the company and Berlin's infrastructure."

As a shareholder of Stromnetz Berlin GmbH, Managing Director of BEN Berlin Energie und Netz Holding GmbH Wolfgang Neldner stated that such an experienced and reputable manager will ensure cooperation within the BEN Group remains stable and successful, particularly with regard to the ongoing focus on results.

Bernhard Büllmann himself issued the following statement: "I would like to thank the Supervisory Board of Stromnetz Berlin for the trust they have placed in me and am excited to get to know the Berlin electricity grid and my many new colleagues. I am particularly looking forward to working closely with Dr Landeck, my new colleagues and the Works Council to significantly shape the implementation of the energy and climate protection programme in and for Berlin. A sustainably efficient electricity infrastructure is an essential prerequisite for a successful energy and heat transition. The decision to bring Stromnetz Berlin under municipal control again has created excellent framework conditions for organising and implementing the transition process and put Stromnetz Berlin in a strong position financially. I look forward to continuing to develop Stromnetz Berlin successfully from a financial perspective and to positioning the company so that it is able to address future challenges."
