As a distribution system operator, we keep a list of registered electrical installers who are permitted to install, expand, modify and maintain systems connected to our distribution network.

Extension of registration for Berlin plumbing companies

From 01.01.2025, a new procedure will apply for the renewal of registration in the installer register of Stromnetz Berlin.

The main changes will be as follows:

• The on-site workshop inspection for a renewal will be replaced by a self-disclosure in future. For initial registration, proof of a passed workshop inspection is still required as an on-site inspection.
• To extend the installer registration, proof of participation in training courses related to the purpose of registration must be submitted to the network operator. The requirements for further training can be found in the installer circular October 2023, Section 7.
• The period of validity of installer ID cards previously issued for 10 years remains unaffected. The 10-year period of validity will be gradually phased out as the validity period of the corresponding installer certificates expires.
• It is not possible to extend the entry in the installer register ahead of time.
• The period of validity of the installer registration will be reduced from 10 to 5 years.
  The adjustment of the validity period came into force on 01.04.2024.

Registration requirements as a Berlin installer

To register as an electrical installation company located in Berlin, you will need

• proof of qualification (e.g. a master craftsman's certificate),
• the certificate of competence (TREI) with at least a sufficient test result (see page 15 of the leaflet "Registration of installation companies")
• a valid craft card from the competent Chamber of Crafts,
• a business registration from the issuing authority,
• a successfully passed workshop exam,
• proof of employment (if the applicant is not a manager)
• an extract from the commercial register (if a corporation, e.g. GmbH).

Registering as a gast installer

Electrical installation companies not based in Berlin can register with us as guest installers, provided that work is carried out in the network area of Stromnetz Berlin should be executed. The electrical installation company must have already registered with the regionally responsible distribution system operator.

Please provide us with the following information:

• company
• Network operator number (four digits) [BDEW-Codes]
• Installer ID number
• Installer ID validity
• Manager
• First name and surname specialist
• Company address
• Landline and mobile phone numbers
• E-mail address
• First name and surname of contact person
• Copy of the installer's ID
