46 young people are starting their apprenticeships today – almost all places have been filled

"Young talent is immensely important to us, and not just since the shortage of skilled workers has become so apparent across all industries. We have been investing in the training of young people for many years and are happy to play our part in this aspect of social responsibility," says Bernhard Büllmann, Managing Director responsible for the Human Resources and Finance division of Stromnetz Berlin GmbH, marking the first day of training for the 2023/24 year. 

46 young people are starting their apprenticeships at Berlin’s distribution system operator in four different apprenticeships and two dual study courses. "We are particularly pleased that we were able to sign an apprenticeship contract for almost all positions in light of the increasing competition for the best young talent. Today, 1,683 employees and 133 apprentices and dual studies students are employed at Stromnetz Berlin. With a training quota of around eight percent, we are significantly above the national average," Bernhard Büllmann continues. Our young career starters now have two or three-and-a-half years of education ahead of them. Of course, the company hopes that the apprentices and dual studies students will also choose to stay with Stromnetz Berlin at the end of their apprenticeships and studies. The company certainly offers an attractive environment for this and the need is there. 

Application process launched along with start of apprenticeships – additional apprenticeship on offer 

As the apprenticeships are getting under way, the application period for apprenticeship positions in 2024/25 is also reopening. School leavers in the coming year can now apply for 39 apprenticeships and eleven positions for dual study at Stromnetz Berlin. There are three new places on offer for prospective computer scientists – two of which are for training as specialist computer scientists for system integration and one for the dual studies course for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
